Brian Reich

President and Managing Partner

Brian is the Founder and a Managing Partner of Atrato Advisors LLC.  Prior to establishing Atrato in late 2008, Brian held senior leadership roles in building and directing alternative investment research and advisory businesses within global private wealth management and asset management firms.

Previously, Brian was Director of Research for Cantor Advisors LP, the asset management division of Cantor Fitzgerald & Company.  He joined Cantor to start up and establish an alternative investment management practice, and to build and develop an institutional research process and its supporting team.  Prior to Cantor, Brian was the Global Head of Hedge Fund Research for Deutsche Bank’s Private Wealth Management division.  At Deutsche Bank, Brian oversaw the construction, development, and manager selection for the bank’s multi-billion dollar global open-architecture hedge fund advisory platform, leading a team of analysts in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.  Previously, Brian served as a Senior Research Analyst and Investment Committee member at Richcourt Fund Advisors, the fund-of-funds business previously owned by The Citco Group.  He also worked during business school at Salomon Smith Barney in the Derivatives Capital Markets group.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University (1996) and a Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University (2001).   Brian is fluent in Spanish.

Janna Sobolev

Managing Partner

Janna is a Managing Partner of Atrato Advisors LLC, and merged the consulting firm she founded, Red Square LLC, into Atrato Advisors in early 2009.  Janna’s prior experience included over a decade working in senior quantitative portfolio research and risk management roles at large alternative investment management firms.

Previously, Janna led the risk management effort as a senior investment analyst at Gleacher Fund Advisors.  At Gleacher, she was solely responsible for all quantitative analysis and risk management for the firm’s portfolios, and was actively involved in all aspects of qualitative research for the funds’ holdings and potential investments.  Prior to joining Gleacher, Janna was among the original members of the Quantitative Risk Analytics Group at SAC Capital Advisors, LP.  At SAC, she was responsible for analyzing market, trading, and operational risk for prospective and existing portfolio managers on SAC’s platform, as well as portfolio-level risk management oversight responsibilities of the overall multi-strategy platform.  Prior to joining SAC, Janna worked at JP Morgan in the Private Banking division while completing her MBA.

Janna graduated magna cum laude from Baruch College with Bachelor of Science (1998) while working full-time for Norilsk Nickel Corp.  She earned a Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University (2002).  Janna was born in St. Petersberg, and is a native speaker of Russian.
