Michael Boensch
Mike is a Partner of Atrato Advisors and is the firm’s first employee, joining the two co-founders in October 2009. He leads Atrato’s investment research functions across all private and public strategies, including hedge funds, private credit, private equity, and real estate.
Mike has over 15 years of alternative investment research experience across consultant, family office, and fund-of-funds settings. Prior to joining Atrato, Mike was a senior analyst at Gleacher Fund Advisors LLC, where he performed qualitative and quantitative analysis on the entire spectrum of hedge fund strategies, sectors, and geographies. Previously, Mike was an analyst with CSM Capital Management, a multi-family office that invested across traditional and alternative asset classes.
Mike graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and German from Vanderbilt University (2005). He is a CFA charterholder, and a CAIA Designee (2008). Mike is fluent in German.
Danny Santos
Danny joined Atrato Advisors in March 2010, and leads the firm’s operational research and due diligence efforts. He is responsible for evaluating middle and back office functions across all private and public investment managers. Danny also serves as Atrato’s Chief Compliance Officer.
Prior to joining Atrato, Danny was Supervisor of Operations at Private Client Resources LLC, a specialty financial services reporting and data analytics firm. At PCR, he was responsible for pricing, reporting, reconciliation, and operational administration of private and institutional client accounts.
Danny graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany (2007) and received a Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University (2012). He is fluent in Portuguese.
Andy Vantine
Andy joined Atrato Advisors in June 2016 and leads Atrato’s fund manager research efforts in private credit and distressed strategies. He also covers event-driven hedge fund strategies with a credit bias and has client portfolio advisory responsibilities.
Prior to joining Atrato, Andy was the co-head of hedge fund research at Chi-Rho Financial, an Atlanta-based credit-focused alternative investment firm. At Chi-Rho, he led the team responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and on-going manager surveillance, with a heavy emphasis on structured credit, distressed, and direct lending strategies. Andy was also responsible for portfolio construction across Chi-Rho’s suite of funds, and was a member of the firm’s investment committee.
Andy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wake Forest University (2011). He is an Eagle Scout.
Robert Abballe
Rob joined Atrato Advisors in May 2014 and leads Atrato’s research effort in both private and public equity strategies. He is responsible for covering activist and long/short equity hedge funds, as well as early-stage venture, late-stage private equity, and buyout strategies.
Rob began working at Atrato immediately after completing his undergraduate studies. He previously interned at Viscogliosi Brothers LLC, a private equity/venture capital firm focused on the healthcare sector. Rob also completed internships at HFP Capital Markets and the New York Better Business Bureau.
Rob graduated from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with a minor in Economics (2014). He is a CAIA Designee (2015). Rob is fluent in Italian.
